i hope we are that beautiful

the quote of the evening. from amanda - after our wonderful last night out with my aunt and uncle. seriously they are so amazing - sig is like the big brother i never had. what an amazing couple. truely we hope we are as beautiful as they are. heather and ian met us at the sip and we had a great time hanging with them. then we headed back to sig and gab's place to hang for a little before dinner. we had some amazing pre-dinner beverages and then we were off to the West Town Tavern. so amazing. the food. the beverages. the dessert. the conversation. everything was beautiful. we experienced heaven tonight and it was amazing. we are so sad to leave, but we know we will return soon. oh, and if you have never had cognac you have never lived. and if you have never smelled cognac you have never lived. we truley lived tonight.

conference is over : back at the sip

so we went to our final session this morning. pretty cool. the best part of the confernce was day one for sure. the breakout sessions were kinda eh...we saw some showcases of mosaic and north point, but the best one was this morning - how to empower and encourage songwriters. so all in all i was surprised. it was an inspiring trip and so great to be in chicago with the whole 11o5 crew. today we road with radkey and andrew to ohare, hopped on the train and came down to our fav coffee shop of all time, Sip Coffee House. of course it was the hottest day in the city because we had to walk about a mile with all of our luggage to get here. but now we are here and it is amazing. my cousin heather and her husband ian are coming to hang with us for a while. should be great! tonight we are heading for one last dinner in the city with my aunt and uncle then back to houston. it has been a great time in slc and chicago; we dont want to go. the plus side of being home is that good ol collings is waiting for me. yes!!!! the cubs game was incredible, as you can see below, just to hear 'take me out to the ballgame' was a spiritual experience. even though the cubs lost it was still amazing. and charlie hall was great as well. it is great to be led by others; i learn so much through that. here's to one more night in chi-town. cheers!

in the city (chicago day 1)

yesterday was awesome. after a great meal on sunday night, we crashed at my aunt and uncle's place off of grand and racine. so cool. we slept in and eventually made it to the local coffee shop called 'the sip'. this is by far the best coffee shop i have been in. the people there were so friendly, the coffee was great and the ambience was outstanding. here are some pics for ya: after that we hopped on a bus and headed for michigan ave! we walked all the way to the end of michigan ave, hit up H&M of course, then walked over to rush st and the gold coast area. had to make it over to the other mac store as well! after some lunch at RA sushi and finding out the us got creamed in the world cup, we headed back down the other direction on michigan ave, across the river toward millenium park. once we arrived there we headed for some amazing ice cream and then up to see 'the bean': after hangin at 'the bean' we headed back to my uncle's place. about a 5 mile walk from michigan ave. so needless to say we got our walking workout for sure yesterday. we were ready to ride the train out the burbs. my uncle sig took us out to union station: where we got some food and then hit up the train. pretty smooth ride out to where we are now, south barrington, and we hooked up with everyone else - radkey, andrew, and cynthia and headed to gino's pizza. so a full day, but a great one none the less. now we are headed over to willow to get all registered and such. should be cool...

Andy and Becca Shogren

so what a wonderful day yesterday was!! here are the photos to document it all. Half of the groomsmen: Nick Ames, Steve Gioielli, Nate Yetton, and Me The Happy Couple The First Dance What a stud!! For their exit we all got industrial size sparklers and made a tunnel that they ran through to the car. and then once in the car there was a fireworks display upon the exit. so cool! all in all a great time here in salt lake. now we are off to chicago for a few days of fun before we hit up the Willow Creek Association - Arts Conference 2006. see ya in chicago!
